【学术讲座】On the Nature of Aerosols and their Interactions with Radiation and Clouds
发布时间:Fri Mar 11 12:02:00 CST 2011
Topic: On the Nature of Aerosols and their Interactions with Radiation and Clouds Speaker: Armin Sorooshian Assistant Professor The University of Arizona Chemical and Environmental Engineering/Atmospheric Sciences Abstract: It is now widely recognized that atmospheric aerosol particles play a critical role in altering atmospheric visibility, cloud and rain formation, and the planet’s radiative balance. Major uncertainty surrounds the magnitude of these effects primarily because of measurement limitations, the challenge of untangling aerosol effects from meteorology, in addition to the physicochemical complexity, short lifetime, and spatial inhomogeneities of aerosols. Many advancements in aerosol measurement technology, models, and satellite remote sensors are allowing for new insights into the nature of particles and how they interact with radiation and clouds. This talk will explore recent findings related to atmospheric aerosol particles using a variety of tools with a particular focus on how aerosols impact cloud microphysics and precipitation. Time: 9:00-11:00 AM, 14, Mar.,2011 2011年 3 月 14 日 上午9:00-11:00 Venue: New meeting room, 1st floor, Shengdi Building School of Geography, BNU. 北京师范大学 生地楼 地遥学院一楼新会议室 欢迎各位老师、同学参加! 相关附件: |
