Abstract :

Results from climate system modeling over the three poles of the earth (Arctic, Antarctic, Tibetan plateau) using the regional climate model HIRHAM will be presented.Investigations of atmospheric processes (e.g., atmospheric boundary layer) and atmosphere-land-sea ice interactions will be illustrated.
Recent studies about high-resolution circum-Arctic atmospheric future changes will be discussed. Here, both their sensitivity to changed land surface conditions and their relevance for frozen ground conditions will be discussed.
